Seed-Oil-Free Lotion
No sunflower, safflower, canola, or soybean oil. Our lotion is grass-fed tallow and organic jojoba — and jojoba is technically a wax, not a typical oil.

None of the common carrier oils.
Tallow base
Grass-fed and finished.
Jojoba wax ester
Not a triglyceride oil.
Two ingredients
That's all.
Where seed oils hide in lotion
Many lotions — including "clean" ones — use sunflower, safflower, canola, grapeseed, or soybean oil as their oil phase. They're inexpensive and easy to emulsify. Some people prefer to avoid them as a personal choice.
If that's you, check the first few ingredients after water. That's usually where the carrier oils are.
A note on jojoba
Jojoba comes from the seed of a desert shrub, so it's fair to ask about it. Chemically, though, it's a liquid wax ester, not a triglyceride oil like sunflower or canola. It's very stable and behaves differently on skin.
We use organic cold-pressed jojoba to lighten our grass-fed tallow into a spreadable whip. There are no other oils in the formula.
Ingredients
The full lotion formula — two ingredients
- 1
100% grass-fed & finished beef tallow
A rich, waterless fat that moisturizes and helps reduce moisture loss.
- 2
Organic cold-pressed jojoba
Technically a liquid wax ester, not a seed oil in the usual sense. Lightens the whip and helps it glide.
No water, no emulsifiers, no preservatives, no seed oils. Our unscented lotion has no added fragrance or essential oils; scented versions are sold separately and clearly labeled. Read about every ingredient.

Lone Star Whipped Tallow Lotion
How to use it
- Start with a pea-sized amount — less than you'd use of a water-based lotion.
- Warm it between your palms for a few seconds until it softens.
- Press and smooth it into skin, ideally while skin is still slightly damp after a shower.
- Give it a minute or two to absorb before dressing.
- Add more only to areas that still feel dry.
