Using tallow lotion on your body
Body skin varies a lot: shins and elbows tend to be dry, while the torso usually needs less. Tallow lotion works well as an everyday body moisturizer because you can use a light touch on most areas and a heavier one where you need it.
Since it's waterless, it doesn't evaporate off the skin the way a water-based lotion can. That's why a small amount lasts.
Where people use it most
Shins and calves after shaving. Elbows and knees. Heels at night with socks on. Shoulders after a day in the sun or wind. Hands after a day of work.
Our jar is grass-fed and finished tallow and organic jojoba — the same formula everywhere, so one jar covers the whole family.
Ingredients
The full lotion formula — two ingredients
- 1
100% grass-fed & finished beef tallow
A rich, waterless fat that moisturizes and helps reduce moisture loss.
- 2
Organic cold-pressed jojoba
Technically a liquid wax ester, not a seed oil in the usual sense. Lightens the whip and helps it glide.
No water, no emulsifiers, no preservatives, no seed oils. Our unscented lotion has no added fragrance or essential oils; scented versions are sold separately and clearly labeled. Read about every ingredient.

How to apply
- Start with a pea-sized amount — less than you'd use of a water-based lotion.
- Warm it between your palms for a few seconds until it softens.
- Press and smooth it into skin, ideally while skin is still slightly damp after a shower.
- Give it a minute or two to absorb before dressing.
- Add more only to areas that still feel dry.
