Why tallow is a good fit for dry skin
Dry skin is skin that's short on oils and losing water faster than it should. Moisturizers help in two ways: by adding emollients that soften skin and by forming a layer that slows water loss.
Tallow does both. It's a rich emollient fat, and because it isn't diluted with water, it leaves a soft, lasting layer on skin. Applied to slightly damp skin after a shower, it helps hold that moisture in.
