Deodorant Without Aluminum or Baking Soda
No aluminum, no baking soda. Our four-ingredient tallow deodorant uses magnesium hydroxide and arrowroot instead.

No aluminum
A deodorant, not an antiperspirant.
No baking soda
Magnesium hydroxide instead.
Arrowroot
Absorbs surface moisture.
Four ingredients
That's the full list.
Two different ingredients, two different reasons
Aluminum compounds are what make an antiperspirant reduce sweat. Leaving them out makes a product a deodorant — it helps with odor but you'll still sweat.
Baking soda is a separate decision. Many aluminum-free deodorants rely on it for odor control, and some people find it uncomfortable because it's strongly alkaline. Skipping both narrows things down to a smaller set of products.
How our four ingredients cover the job
Magnesium hydroxide helps control odor. Arrowroot powder absorbs surface moisture so you feel drier. Grass-fed tallow and a little coconut oil make a soft balm that conditions underarm skin.
No aluminum, no baking soda, no fragrance, no essential oils, no beeswax.
Ingredients
The full deodorant formula — four ingredients
- 1
100% grass-fed & finished beef tallow
The base. A stable, skin-friendly fat that carries the balm and leaves underarms conditioned.
- 2
Organic cold-pressed unrefined coconut oil
Softens the balm so it spreads at body temperature.
- 3
Organic arrowroot powder
A plant starch that absorbs surface moisture so the balm doesn't feel wet.
- 4
Magnesium hydroxide
A gentle mineral that helps control odor without baking soda.
No aluminum, no baking soda, no beeswax, no seed oils, no synthetic fragrance, no essential oils. It is a deodorant, not an antiperspirant — it helps control odor and does not stop sweat. Read about every ingredient.

Typical options compared
General categories — individual products differ.
- Antiperspirant

How to apply
- Start with clean, dry underarms — right after a shower is ideal.
- Scoop a pea-sized amount with a clean fingertip.
- Hold it against your skin for a few seconds so body heat softens the balm.
- Massage it in until it disappears. Repeat on the other side.
- Reapply later in the day if you need to. Patch test first if your skin is sensitive.
