Why sourcing matters for a tallow lotion
In a two-ingredient lotion, the tallow is nearly the entire product. That makes where it came from — and how it was rendered — the biggest quality decision a maker makes.
"Grass-fed" can mean grass for part of an animal's life. "Grass-fed and finished" means grass and forage to the end. Grass-finished fat tends to differ in fatty-acid balance and naturally carries fat-soluble nutrients. We choose it because it's the ingredient we want to work with, not because we claim it treats anything.
From suet to jar
We render in small batches so the tallow stays clean and mild. No solvents, bleaching, or deodorizers. Once it's strained and cooled, we whip it with organic cold-pressed jojoba into a soft, spreadable lotion.

A rich, waterless fat that moisturizes and helps reduce moisture loss.

Organic cold-pressed jojoba
Technically a liquid wax ester, not a seed oil in the usual sense. Lightens the whip and helps it glide.
No water, no emulsifiers, no preservatives, no seed oils. Our unscented lotion has no added fragrance or essential oils; scented versions are sold separately and clearly labeled. Read about every ingredient.

How to use it
- Start with a pea-sized amount — less than you'd use of a water-based lotion.
- Warm it between your palms for a few seconds until it softens.
- Press and smooth it into skin, ideally while skin is still slightly damp after a shower.
- Give it a minute or two to absorb before dressing.
- Add more only to areas that still feel dry.
